Overview
To complete the Funding Request form you will need:
- The energy assessment reports (“D Audit”) provided by your Energy Advisor
- Quotes from contractors for the work you are planning
- A void check for the account where you want the funding deposited by e-transfer
If you have not already done so, we highly recommend connecting with your Retrofit Coach to discuss your project. They can help you review your energy assessment, contractor quotes and confirm your project will meet the program requirements.

What’s next?
Upon receipt of your Funding Request, BetterHomes Huntsville will review your form to:
- Confirm the eligibility of the improvements you intend to install;
- Verify the reasonability of the retrofit and labour costs by consulting manufacturer pricing and prevailing labour rates;
- Derive the funding amount up to the maximum of $40,000 and a minimum of $5,000;
- Determine what BetterHomes Huntsville incentives you qualify for.
- Prepare a Property Owner Agreement (“POA”) for the homeowners, municipality and county to review and sign.
All amounts are estimates and will be finalized once the work is finished and you have submitted a Project Completion Report. This review will take up to 10 business days.
Once all property owner(s) and the Town of Huntsville have signed the POA, the applicant can then:
- Proceed with engaging contractors and completing the improvements; and
- Be eligible for an initial disbursement of 50% of eligible funds.
